Auditions:

There are no in-person auditions, only video submissions are turned in through the virtual audition form above - they include required scales and a song of choice.

Staff



Hunter Franklin



Hunter Franklin is an active Music Educator based in Sacramento, California. Hunter's experience includes performing with Vanguard Cadets and Santa Clara Vanguard before aging out with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2022. While at the Cavaliers he had the privilege to study Brass pedagogy under Kevin LeBoeuf, Dylan Toombs, and Freddy Martin. Outside of Drum Corps, He was a founding member of Sacramento State’s Hornet Horns Brass Quintet and Sac State Indoor Percussion Ensemble. He currently is the Brass Caption Head at Oak Ridge High School (CA) and actively consults with bands throughout the Western US.



Roberto Ruiz

A California native of the San Francisco Bay Area and trumpet player of 20 years, Roberto enjoys playing different styles and genres of music including classical, jazz, salsa, and fusion. In addition to being a trumpet player, Roberto enjoys teaching the youth in all age groups. He is currently a Brass Teaching Artist for the Bay Area Music Project in Alameda where he teaches brass fundamentals and ensembles. Roberto’s musical background includes playing with various orchestras, wind symphonies, jazz ensembles, and Afro-Cuban ensembles in addition to local pit orchestras for theater companies.



About Us





Tri-city Winds is a new indoor marching winds program featuring all instruments, including percussion. Similar to our winter guard and winter percussion programs, this program brings a competitive show towards the wind section. Lasting from December to March, we will perform or compete in 3-4 events.
