What is a Drum major?
The drum major is the leader of the marching band. They often twirl a mace or a baton around themselves and keep the band in time. They stand in front of the marching band and lead them down through the parade.
A drum Major's Responsibilities
- Acts as a role model for other members of the band
- Leads the band through rehearsals and parade
- Ensures that all sections and members are improving
- Follows and communicates information well
Benefits of the program
- Learn how to conduct and spin a mace from experienced students
- Eventually lead TBC or your high school band in a parade
