As a finance officer in TBC, I can confidently say that my experience has been very fulfilling and rewarding. Being part of an organization that promotes music education and provides opportunities for students who want to learn an instrument has been a great experience. I originally joined TBC as a music TA, and taught elementary students to play the drums. I was able to take the skills and passion I had for music and share them with younger children, which also allowed me to develop teaching and mentoring skills. After becoming a finance officer, one of the things I did was write grant requests. This has given me skills in financial planning and budgeting that will help me in any future career. In addition to my finance responsibilities, I have also had the opportunity to serve customers at the Fall and Spring feeds and events such as the Arts and Wine Festival. It has been amazing to see the community come together to support our organization and the people we work with. Overall, my experience in TBC has been amazing. The opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as the ability to make a positive impact in the community by teaching others, have been truly remarkable. I am grateful for the experiences I have had through TBC and look forward to continuing to contribute to it.
