I joined TBC in ninth grade. I was one of their online one-on-one flute TAs, and now I am their Executive Director of Elementary Bands. I taught 5 students individually over the 2 years I was their TA. I loved the teaching opportunity TBC provided me, and loved watching these beginner students who did not know anything evolve into students who are now in the TBC middle school program. In addition, as the current Elementary Band Director, I love the leadership opportunities this job provides me, and I love watching these few hundred students improve and learn their music. Since COVID has removed the Fremont Unified School District’s elementary band programs, TBC has been the only elementary band program in Fremont. Their passion and goal to spread music to everyone who wishes to learn is huge. There are so many places that I just go to hang out, and there are students of TBC wearing our merchandise there. The impact of TBC’s music programs on society is vast. I would recommend TBC to anyone who wishes to spread music everywhere. It doesn’t matter if you do know how to play an instrument, TBC has a place for you. Thanks TBC for all that you have done for society, and thanks for all the opportunities you have given me.
