Current Staff

Ben Wilkinson

Caption Head 2018-2022
Fremont Site

Ben has been coaching, designing, and consulting for attention-grabbing, award-winning shows for numerous schools and independent programs for the last 15 years. His instructing experience include: Benicia, Fremont, Vanden, Archbishop Riordan, Franklin, John Swett, “…of essence”, and San Mateo.

Jenny Hunter

Instructor 2020-2022
Fremont Site

Jenny has over 20 years of experience marching, both in band and color guard, from A-class high school to gold medals in WGI. She has over 18 years of experience teaching from middle school to college and world class drum corps and winter guards.

Melchor Bongato

Instructor 2021-2022
Cupertino Site

Melchor was born and raised in the South Bay He started his colorguard career freshman year at Fremont High School where he competed in A, AA, then finally in Open Class. He has competed in WGI, CCGC, and NCBA circuits for winter guard. He graduated from SF State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Asian American Studies. Currently, he is in the Master of Arts Program for Asian American Studies at SF State University. In his free-time, he enjoys cooking, going on walks, hiking, and going to the beach. His favorite animal is the elephant!

Ashlyn Reth

Tech 2021-2022
Cupertino Site

Ashlyn grew up as a dancer, until she found guard during her freshman year of high school. She participated in color guard and winter guard for 4 years in high school, and then went on to spin for another 4 years during college at Cal Poly, SLO. This will be her first year coaching and she is looking forward to the new experience!

Sean Sung

Executive Director of Elementary Programs

Sean Sung is a junior at Mission San Jose High School. He plays tuba and started in 7th grade. He has been a part of TBC for one year. His hobbies include fencing, reading, and watching many TV shows. He also loves to play the trombone and tuba. His favorite hobby of all is sleeping. Sleeping is important, and everyone should like it. A fun fact is that he makes weird shapes with fingers when he is nervous while doing physical activity. Another fun fact is that he cannot eat any spicy food whatsoever since he has no tolerance for it. He would be an eagle because of its amazing feathers and its ability to see very far and very clearly. Also, eagles can fly very far and very high, which would be wonderful for sightseeing and traveling around the world.

Rachel Yen

Eternal Regiment Director

Rachel Yen is a senior at Milpitas High School. She has been in Color Guard since 8th grade. Rachel likes baking desserts and watching Netflix shows and movies in her free time. True to her East Asian roots, Rachel also watches traditional Chinese dramas with her mom whenever they have time. One fun fact about Rachel is that she gets sunburnt very easily, even after putting on sunscreen. She may or may not be mildly allergic to the sun. If Rachel could be any animal, she would be a cow because they don’t have to do anything other than eat, sleep, and walk around at a leisurely pace. Cows are also pretty intimidating, so no one will bother her and Rachel can get her quality alone time.

Maanav Kyabarsi

Cadet Regiment Director

Maanav Kyabarsi is a senior at Mission San Jose High School. He has been a part of TBC since 11th grade and has been a part of band since 5th grade. Maanav loves cooking, reading, and shooting hoops in his free time. Embracing his love for TV, Maanav also watches a lot of movies and TV shows when he has time. A fun fact about Maanav is that he hates hot weather, hot being anything over 78 degrees. Conversely, he loves the cold weather and can take on 20 degree weather in shorts. If Maanav could be any animal, he would be a lion because lions are fierce and powerful predators that no animal dare oppose. Lions are also always resting and sleeping when they're not hunting, so Maanav could finally live his dream of napping every day.
