About The Tri-City Band Corps

The Tri-City Band Corps is a 501(c)3 non-profit student-led music organization that enriches the lives of students across the greater Bay Area, comprising over 700 students from 75 schools across over half a dozen performing units, allowing students to participate in numerous performance opportunities across the state, country, and even internationally. Learn more about our programs at http://tricitybandcorps.org/

TBC is proud to partner with local school music boosters to support music education across the Bay Area.

About Our Partners

The Parents of Universal Performers Foundation (PUPs) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports the Performing Arts at Mission San Jose High School, including instrumental music, vocal music, and theater programs. PUPs allows students to participate in projects that are poorly funded by the school district, and also helps fund items including costumes and uniforms, royalties on music and plays, coaching, instruments, equipment, and transportation, which will help continue providing students with a creative outlet through the arts. Learn more about them at http://www.msjpups.org/.

Our Needs

TBC has chosen to participate in the virtual balloon race because we believe that music is such an integral part of many students’ lives, and we hope to continue our programs even through the hard times of the pandemic, and onwards.
Since the start of the pandemic, our elementary student population has grown over 400%! We need funds to expand our software license subscriptions and purchase additional equipment to accommodate the additional students, as well as using the funds to cover the costs of running these programs, including the costs of instruments and employing local music teachers.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, TBC like many of our partner organizations have each lost approximately $15,000 in normal fundraising operations during the last year. We hope everyone will join in on supporting our organization so that we can continue giving hundreds of students musical opportunities and friendships that they make along the way that they will cherish for a lifetime.
