Tri-City Band Corps is a great organization. Both of my daughters are officers in TBC and learned a lot in program planning and execution. They also learned a lot in running the organization through fundraising and monthly meetings. All this has helped them have a good connection with the community, prepare them for their future career, and it is also helpful with college applications. My oldest daughter started and led the TBC elementary band program, which is something many high schoolers do not have the chance to do. She enjoyed working with the students and the other officers and said it was a valuable experience.
My son is a student in the TBC school year elementary band. It is a free program which developed his interest in music. The instructors are very patient and nice to the kids. My son enjoyed learning from his TA, and we appreciate his help. The elementary band program helps keep music alive in the community and gives high school students a chance to volunteer.
I highly recommend TBC if you want your kid to join an organization outside the school.
