I first joined TBC in the summer of my freshman year. Before TBC, my only band experience was participating in my elementary school’s band in 4th and 5th grade, before the pandemic. My first officer position was Rentals Officer, where I helped manage the many instruments TBC rents out to students during the summer and school year. Through this role, I learned how to communicate politely and professionally by corresponding with parents and tracking payments. After half a year, I was promoted to Chief Accounting Officer, and now, in the 2025–2026 school year, I have the privilege of serving as TBC’s Chief of Staff. The wide range of officer positions at TBC allows students to explore their interests across different departments while gaining real-world experience. Throughout my time here, I’ve seen firsthand the importance of communication and teamwork as everyone in the organization works together to spread their love for music. As Chief of Staff, I’ve had the opportunity to get to know many of our officers and build meaningful connections. TBC differs from a typical high school club or nonprofit because it offers insight into what it's like to work in a real workplace scenario. Everyone is interdependent and responsible for their role in keeping our programs running smoothly! Seeing the impact TBC has made in our communities, by offering music education ranging from basic to advanced band, color guard, and even college-level color guard and percussion programs, has been incredibly rewarding. Through this program, I’ve grown both individually and professionally while helping my community grow as well.
