The start of my child’s involvement with Tri-City Band Corps was when I suggested she take a class on color guard online. She then started to join the other programs that TBC offers and eventually became an officer. I believe becoming an officer in TBC has impacted my daughter a lot. Joining TBC, she has found a passion in color guard and the community within the programs that TBC provides. As well as joining the programs that TBC hosts, she now as an officer sees the background work that goes into making and running those programs. While running these programs, the responsibility that comes with having her job as a TBC officer has helped her grow. As an officer, she has clearly learned the ways of working with requirements when having a job. She has also learned how to work with time management as the tasks given to her can sometimes be time consuming. From trials and errors, she and many other officers have steadily progressed their knowledge into a more real-life mindset which I believe will be extremely helpful later in life.
